A Maryland resident and product of the Prince Georges County (PGC) schools system, Oxon Hill High School graduate, and University of Maryland Eastern Shore graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Biology Mrs. Taneka Ferrell exudes hard work, love, dedication, loyalty, nurturing, supporting, encouragement just to name a few. As a young black woman growing up in Maryland, Mrs. Ferrell does not look like what she has been through. Her story, testimony, and energy makes each person she graces her presence with realize and understand that they do not have to allow their circumstances to become their blueprint for life. But rather, it can be a stepping stone for how to rise above, be fearfully and wonderfully made in God's image and give back no matter how much we may have lacked or not experienced in our youth. Mrs. Ferrell never cuts corners with building up the community through support, messaging, connections, donations, and social settings in any way possible.
Taneka has not only found a voice through creative expression in writing but spiritual increase through uplifting all friends, family, strangers, and people afar through energetic and steadfast prayer. A devout Christian and fabulously young, saved African American woman she has faced the world with the armor of God, and always spreads love and encouragement regardless of the current state of any circumstance. Mrs. Ferrell is the founder of A Girl with a Grind, a company focused on inspiring youth through self-expression and identifying gifts and passions for preparation and implementation into a generation beyond our time. In addition to focusing on youth and reaching the community through literature, Mrs. Ferrell is also the founder of Ladies of Pride, for 7 years , a female empowerment group focusing on providing young females with building one’s self esteem, identity and finding inner purpose through peers and successful entrepreneurs. This author is internally burning with a passion to make a difference in the community and jumping into the shoes of many honorable pioneers who have paved the way for the talent she displays.
